Hailing from Austin, TX in 2023, SNATCHWITCH is the viscera-slimed two-headed baby of Tiffany Promise, Brady Black & Adam Gibbs. 

With an MFA from CalArts, Tiffany has been writing, teaching, and performing poetry and spoken word for decades all over the US. When she proposed the idea of putting her poems to music, songwriter and guitarist, Brady Black, pretzelled himself into writing riffs that create space for Tiffany’s slutty stanzas.  

Brady Black has played nationwide as a solo artist and as the lead vocalist for Despero. 

Adam has lived and worked in the Austin music scene for over twenty years. Coming from a solid musical background as a multi-instrumentalist, he specializes in voice, drums and electronic instruments.

Rooted in anti-misogynist narrative, SNATCHWITCH’s songs expose the everyday horror of femme and queer folks. Tiffany’s words meditate on substance abuse, sexual violence, inherited trauma, and ghosts. Intermingling film and literary references, their poetic lyrics investigate pop culture and transgressing social norms–all while telling Tiffany’s story.

Inspired by the riot grrrl movement of the 90’s; 70’s/80’s feminist punk rockers like Spitboy and Dirt; and the guttural vibe of darkwave/goth/deathrock , SNATCHWITCH is your fishnet-wearing, black-fingernail-polished loud-mouthed big sister. 

With indie, surfy guitar riffs & punk and grunge-inspired drum beats, SNATCHWITCH has been compared to The Cramps, Babes in Toyland and Blatz. Described as “X from Hell” by Jameson Jellison of Still Shadow, Tiffany and Brady’s duets create a melodic harmony of lust and loss. 

Their debut performance was in May of 2024, opening for the legendary post-punk poet and queen of NY’s 1970s no-wave scene, Lydia Lunch. Since then, they have been invited to play at Vinyl Beauty Bar, The Far Out Lounge, Little Darlin’, Kick Butt Coffee and other venues. They currently have 3 singles streaming on all platforms and their debut record—Recipe for Eternal Darkness (lathe cut by Bleached Records)—will be released on March 28, 2025.
